We have raised total of $6,140 thanks to your generous contributions. We will split our donations nearly 50/50 between the 2 partner organizations: Bridge to Turkiye Fund (BTF) and Turkish Philanthropy Funds (TPF). We are targeting educational, housing and sustainable rescue support through our donations. TAA-AZ and our partners will secure transparency and accountability through conditional donations.
· 7.2 magnitude earthquake stroke Van, a province in eastern Turkey, demolishing hundreds of buildings and burying numerous victims under the rubble.
· At the end of first day after the main shock, death toll is announced as 279 people but as many as a thousand are feared dead. Additionally, 1300 were injured with many still stuck under rubble.
· Survivors are now trying to survive the freezing temperatures. Weather reports predict snow in the affected area in a few days.
